About Us

We're Big Run Wolf Ranch, and we've been a non-profit wildlife rescue here in Lockport, IL, since 1986. We believe in conservation through education, offering on and off-site presentations, school field trip opportunities, and an open house to the public once a month. We started this business because we've had a long-time love of animals. We're looking forward to growing our business to continue to serve Lockport and the surrounding communities. We'd like to personally invite you to call us today to book your special event, field trip or come in on one of our open house events and meet our beautiful rescued animals. Big Run depends upon public donations to continue its work. You can help! Donating through our secure server is fast and easy, and when we receive your donation, we will send you an acknowledgment in the mail for tax purposes. We are open by Appointment Only and Open to the Public Once a Month! Please give us a call with any questions!

This is a wonderful opportunity to learn and to have fun! It is a smaller facility with once a month pubic tours, but otherwise by appointment. We appreciated the excellent talks given by the rangers. Also, don't miss the opportunity to symbolically adopt a wolf or other animal. This is a much better place to adopt than World Wildlife Foundation because you can actually meet the animal and visit him/her. There are opportunities to help such as donating raw meat and even marshmallows!

We visited the ranch today for a birthday party, and it was an incredible experience. The staff went above and beyond—friendly, knowledgeable, and truly accommodating. It was clear that everyone there is passionate about educating guests and providing a safe, nurturing environment for the animals. We also discovered a designated camping area and are already looking forward to returning for an overnight stay. Highly recommended!

My absolute favorite wolf sanctuary ever! The staff take care of the wolves, bear, tiger, and other animals they have with top care, and the environment is friendly, and beautiful. They have a gift shop here to buy necklaces, shirts, animal plushies, and many other wolf themed things. I highly recommend going here with family or friends on their open house days!
