About Us

We're Big Run Wolf Ranch, and we've been a non-profit wildlife rescue here in Lockport, IL, since 1986. We believe in conservation through education, offering on and off-site presentations, school field trip opportunities, and an open house to the public once a month. We started this business because we've had a long-time love of animals. We're looking forward to growing our business to continue to serve Lockport and the surrounding communities. We'd like to personally invite you to call us today to book your special event, field trip or come in on one of our open house events and meet our beautiful rescued animals. Big Run depends upon public donations to continue its work. You can help! Donating through our secure server is fast and easy, and when we receive your donation, we will send you an acknowledgment in the mail for tax purposes. We are open by Appointment Only and Open to the Public Once a Month! Please give us a call with any questions!

We held a Girl Scout Event here (a tour) and the staff was incredible! Reina was incredibly knowledgeable and personable with the girls! The tour was super interesting and interactive and the girls got to see a lot of different animals and learn about them. They also got to encounter a senior wolf through the fence - she is very gentle and the tour guide informed the girls about that prior. Everything was well done and very fun! Highly recommend doing a tour here!
